Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Marie Boivin as Chair of the Board of Directors

The Ottawa Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Marie Boivin as the new Chair of the Board of Directors for 2016-2018. She was sworn in by Mayor Jim Watson at City Hall today, in accordance with the Boards of Trade Act: Oath of Office along with Ian Sherman, Partner, Tax Practice Market Leader, EY as the Vice-Chair.

Ms. Boivin is Chief Executive Officer of Accu-Rate Corporation, founder of Parallele Nord- Sud SARL and Accu-Rate Corporation USA. A passionate advocate for her community’s business posterity, Ms. Boivin has been a Director on the Board of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce since 2010. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Royal Ottawa Hospital Foundation and sits on the Strategy and Governance Committee of the Royal Ottawa Hospital.

With nearly two decades of experience in the foreign exchange and banking relations industry, Ms. Boivin has a vast knowledge of banking in general, international payment systems and financial institution regulation. Her ability to develop partnerships with banks around the world has helped hundreds of large and small businesses in Canada launch into international markets.

Ms. Boivin has been recognized many times for her skills, community engagement and philanthropic work. A recipient of the prestigious Forty Under 40 award in 2009, Bronze, Business Person of the Year in 2003 & 2009 and was also a finalist in the WBN’s Business Woman of the Year awards in 2015.

With Ms. Boivin as the new Chair, the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce is committed to strengthening its relationships with key stakeholders, and importantly focus on enhancing the Chamber membership.
